Kontron's NotePAC provides additional expandability capabilities. These include an open option Bay 2 with internal PCI / PCI Express connectors that supports a wide variety of options including two additional com ports (RS232, RS422, or RS 485), two additional PCMCIA slots, an Ultra 320 SCSI port, GPS or Wireless modules, an auxiliary battery, or fixed floppy drive (allows the notebook to operate with floppy, harddrive and CD/DVD simultaneously).
